Bred in the Netherlands, Ekarla T competed up 125 FEI in Europe at Kronenberg and Opglabbeek. She was imported to the USA in 2017 and has been competing up to the 1.4m high AO Jumper division as Ekarla.
Ekarla retired sound, and has picture perfect form over fences. Her scope and power combined with a kind, forgiving and laid back demeanor should make her a wonderful producer of both hunters and jumpers that are trainable and amateur friendly.
Ekarla's sire is the fabulous Ustinov, 2004 champion of the KWPN Stallion Show. Under Caroline Müller the very careful Libero H son proved his qualities in the sport up to international 1.50m level. Ustinov competed successfully at international shows such as Moorsele (B), Münster (GER), Verden (GER) and Neustadt Dosse (GER).
Ustinov has sired a great number of successful international 1.60m showjumping horses with great results at international shows, his strong Dam line, his ranking in the KWPN jumping index and the incredible amount of predicate mares (83%) Ustinov was awarded with the keur predicate in 2015! . In the Dutch Sport Horse Sale, 15 of Ustinov’s offspring were sold for a total amount exceeding 1.2 million euros.
Ekarla's Dam Karla, was awarded STER predicate with KWPN.
Karla is by the great stallion Damiro B. Damiro's sire, Ramiro Z is out of an Alme Z mare. All the top European jumping blood is combined in this outstanding stallion. Born in 1985 and bred by W. van Dam in the Netherlands. , Damiro was the result of a cross between two legendary stallions: The great Ramiro Z (Raimond - Valine x Cottage Son xx) and Almé (Ibrahim - Girondine x Ultimate xx), via his dam, the ster pref KWPN dam, Torette.
The combination of French & German breeding is very much sought after in Europe and produces exceptional jumping horses. Damiro was the champion of his performance test in 1988, achieving five nines, and became champion of the Netherlands 'A' level jumping season in 1989/90.
